The ideal starting point. Unpack your story in a safe, non-judgemental space, understand the invisible wounds — yours and his — and walk away with immediate, practical insights.
You don't have to figure it out alone. Practical strategies for the silence, the resistance, the shutdown — so you can raise a confident young man with confidence of your own.
Most parenting support is designed for two-parent households. Single Mothers And Sons Coach is built specifically for the single mother raising a son alone — decoding boy behaviour through a male developmental lens, and turning male psychology into strategies you can use today.
Four questions, about a minute. Most mothers move between all three at different points — this just tells you where to begin today.

"My journey with the Single Mothers' Group & Circle of Support has been a healing and eye-opening experience. As a single mother, I have faced moments of self-doubt, financial pressure, and emotional exhaustion.
Being part of this group reminded me that I'm not alone. Through our shared stories, we uplift each other and find strength in sisterhood".
"My one-on-one session with Ms Dudu Thabede was truly life changing. She created a safe, non-judgemental space for me to speak openly about my life challenges. Her wisdom, compassion, and practical guidance helped me confront my pain, rebuild my confidence, and see my journey as a mother as purpose, not punishment".
"I walked away empowered, grounded, and with a renewed sense of hope. I'm forever grateful as I walk with purpose and clarity in who I am.
"The Single Mothers' Support Group washed away my isolation. I found a safe space to share my fears and also celebrate small victories without judgement".
"The Single Mothers Group keeps Us, Single Moms going. I can safely say that my son was extremely happy when he attended the holiday boy's camp in Umlazi under the guidance of Baba Vuma Mfeka at Mangosuthu University of Technology in October 2025, and he is still looking forward to other sessions, just that he is at a boarding school for now. That session really helped him, he opened up and became "him" because he was with other children like him who didn't have fathers. He was said because other boys didn't have fathers because they had passed away and this made him realize that he needed to be a brother to them. At school, he now talks about brotherhood and that they as boys need to be brothers whilst at school."
"For us, the session that was organized for us as women, the coaches and facilitators from the Fathers Matter program by Heartlines, talked to us about wounds that we have and how to avoid that wound to bleed on your son – this was really enlightening. We had grandmothers there who kept saying that they wished that their daughters could attend this session and hear this message on their own and not get this message from them because it was profound and enlightening, these are lessons that I will carry throughout my life".

We are looking for a network of practitioners around every mother and son who comes to us.
64,5% of South African children grow up without their biological father. Behind every statistic is a single mother carrying the invisible load of raising a son alone — and bringing that exhaustion to work every single day.
Because fatherlessness fuels a silent crisis that enters the workplace as burnout, absenteeism, and broken families, we work across South Africa to help single mothers raising fatherless sons understand and connect with their sons through Ubuntu-centred coaching, corporate wellbeing workshops, and community support, in order to break the cycle at its root.
Practitioner, corporate, school or funder — send us a few lines and we'll come back to you within two working days.
